"I started this painting by putting down a lot of abstract information:  mindful exercise.  I then spent time just looking at the possibilities.  As I started simplifying and composing the image, I heard the Brian Eno song "Empty Frame."

The painting gets title from the song, as it kept running through my head.  I then wanted a frame inside a frame; part of the painting going for a look that was both peaceful and had a little mystery."
